Unmade, a British fashion software company that limits waste by manufacturing on demand, has raised £4.75 million ($5.62 million) in its series A funding round.

The company, who was listed on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2016, offers an end-to-end digital solution for use in knitwear and print customization to place orders directly from customers to ‘hacked’ machinery to create the item.

Companies who have used the service so far include Farfetch, Opening Ceremony and Selfridges. Earlier this year Unmade launched a partnership with Rapha cyclewear to allow customers to create their own unique, digitally printed team kit.

Octopus Ventures has led the investment with additional funding coming from MMC Ventures, Felix Capital, and existing investors. Unmade has previously raised £10M from Connect Ventures and Felix Capital as well as fashion and retail experts including Sian Westerman, president of business and investment pillars of the British Fashion Council, José Neves, founder and CEO of Farfetch, and Christopher Suarez, cofounder and former CEO of Nicholas Kirkwood.

The most recent funding will be used to expand the business globally, develop the technology, improve the current service and expand the team in Europe and the US.

Hal Watts, CEO and cofounder of Unmade, said, “We have an ambitious roadmap for the future of Unmade and we’re delighted to have the support of the team at Octopus Ventures, who understand our vision for a more efficient and sustainable fashion industry.”
